Is it possible to turn a fax in to a desktop printer?

no it is not. The fax machine lacks the firm ware to accept instruction from the computer. However, you can get a fax program set up through you Internet connection that emulates a phone fax, and providing your fax machine and computer are on separate lines you can fax the document to yourself and print that way.
