Does overclocking void warranty on different parts of a system?
I am going to use an Intel Core i7-920, with 6GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, and Asus P6t mainboard.
If I overclock it to around 3.6GHz – 4.0GHz will it void the warranty?
I’ve heard that if it’s only minor overclocking like the one I am aiming for, then it shouldn’t affect warranty.
Can anyone please clarify this? Thanks 
Only you would know that… you have the warranty. Read carefully.
Who did you buy it through?
The general rule of thumb with any warranty is that the company will not protect against intentional misuse or anything that shortens the life of the item. If done incorrectly, overclocking can be very very damaging. So, let’s say you kill the processor and go through the warranty. They look over the processor and determine that it was fried because of overheating, due to overclocking. They probably would not cover it because you caused it to happen and they are therefore not liable.
