Can a virus get carried over from my desktop to my external Hard Drive?
So i have a virus on my hard drive on my desktop and while i wanted to back up some files, i transferred some files to my external hard drive.
Can the virus get carried over and corrupt my maxtor hard drive?
Yeah it can and does happen. The same this happenned to me a few weeks ago. you should be able to remove the virus from the 2nd hard drive by including it in your virus scan.
You should make sure you backup all your data first before trying to sort this out as it could ruin all you data.
