Will a HP Pavillion screen work for HP Compaq Presario?
They are the same size (15.4) and HP makes them. If I were to purchase this kind of screen, would it work for my Compaq Presario C700? Thanks!
Not likely. You usually have to match up the screen to a very specific family of laptops. Even model variations between HP Pavilions will often have incompatible screens. It’s also a fairly technical and involved process to service internal parts on laptops. Unless you’ve been working with computers for a good while and are comfortable with such a procedure, you’re likely going to have to pay someone else to do it. When that’s factored in, depending on the age of the laptop, you may be ahead just replacing it. Basic laptops with that screen size can be found for $300 these days if you look around some. Heck Wal-mart had some in that class for $199 on Black Friday (my mother got one for herself).
