Is it safe to overclock my Intel I7 920 without changing or adding any additional fans?
Maybe from 2.66 to 2.8 or 3
but with the CPU’s default fan.
You can safely overclock the i7 920 using the stock fan up to about 3.2 ghz. Just make sure your case has decent airflow. i’ve been able to do this and get idle temps of 32 cel. and load temps between 45-49 cel.
