which is better between Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 or Quad Q6600 fro intense gaming?
I just bought EVGA nForce 780i SLI Motherboard and i don’t know if I should get Core 2 duo E6850 or Quad Q6600, and i was wondering which is faster and better for gaming?
First off, those are roughly the same price, so that should not be a concern. As of right now, very few games take advantage of multiple cores, so the E6850 and its higher clock speed would be better. BUT, remember you will probably own this processor for a few years, and multiple cores is definately the future, so getting the Quad Core would be a good way of future proofing. You will lose a little speed now, but when games can take advantage of those multiple cores, you will gain A LOT of speed later.
