How can I upgrade my Hp Pavilion dv7-1245dx from 4gb of ram to 8gb?
ok, so I just bought a HP Pavilion dv7-1245dx. While it’s being shipped to me I would like to buy more ram for it. It has capabilities for 8gb. Is there way I can buy 8gb ram. Or do I have to buy another 4gb ram and put that in with the 4gb it already has. If you could give me a website that has them at a good price, that would be great!
You would likely have to buy 8GB of ram. Laptops usually have only 2 memory banks which is probably being used up with the 4 gigs already installed. So, you would need to buy 2 memory sticks of 4GB compatible with your laptop.
I would wait and see because 8GB of RAM might be over kill but, I don’t know if you really need 8GB or not. Unless your doing some extreme 3D rendering, 4GB should be enough. If you’re going to be using vista, you can used ready boost with a flash drive. This is much cheaper solution.
A 64 bit CPU can support more than 4GB with 64 bit operating system and your computer can support up to 8GB as indicated in the system specs.
