I m planning 2 buy a HP dv5t notebook.Should i wait a little more longer?Will d price drop because of core i7?
I am aware that core i7 processors are only available in desktops. I heard that core i7 processors will be introduced in notebooks in 2nd half of 2009.will it greatly affect the price of intel centrino core 2 duo notebooks?I am not sure if it is worth to buy the dv5t notebook now as it is not quite a new model anymore.I am not planning to buy dv7 notebook as it is out of my budget.Is there any possibility that the price will drop soon or similar models will be released soon? thanks a lot for helping me to decide.
Core i7 mobile processors (codename- “Nehalem”) aren’t scheduled for release until Q3 2009- over six months from now. I wouldn’t want to wait that long, especially if there are good deals now.
The deals I’ve seen on various HP models over the last month or so are the best I’ve seen since since they were introduced! Now is actually a very good time to get a great deal.
Since I don’t know your budget, I’m going to toss out a few suggestions and let you know where prices start at the moment-
dv5t- starts @ $579, includes $150 instant rebate
dv7t- starts @ $949, no instant discount included at the moment, but there is a coupon (code- NB3234) that will knock $250 off, making the starting price $699.
The HDX 16t is another option you should at least consider. It has a unique design that differentiates it a bit from the dv5/7 models. It’s a better value than the either of them also- starting at $879, including a $200 instant rebate.
The awesome thing about the HDX 16t is the specs you get at that base price- 2.0GHz Intel P7350, 512mb nVIDIA 9600M GT graphics, 500GB Hard Drive, Webcam & Fingerprint Reader and Intel 5100AGN wireless card. The dv5t and dv7t base prices are with entry-level processors, integrated graphics, 160GB hard drives, and without wireless-N.
If you upgrade the dv5t with the processor, graphics card and wireless card that come standard on the HDX 16t, it tops $1,000 easily! THe HDX 16t is at least $150 less than a comparable dv5t- it’s a STEAL! A final bonus- upgrading to the Blu-Ray player is only $50 on right now on the 16t vs. up to $150 on other Pavilion models!
